Dave Friesema

Dave Friesema is a successful senior executive with extensive experience in the highly competitive retail and digital market segments. As CEO of Sleep Country Canada, Dave drove significant growth in branding, product development, mergers & acquisitions and strategy. He was also a founding member and Chair of the Better Sleep Council Canada – a not-for-profit organization established to promote and educate Canadians about the importance of sleep.

Dave is an active member of the business and not-for-profit communities, advising and sitting on the Boards of various organizations. Current involvement includes Drug Free Kids Canada, a national charity providing education and resources to parents on drug use and abuse. He has served on the Board since 2017 and been part of the Finance Committee since 2018.

Dave is also a co-founder and Chair of the Board of Gardenstead, a social media startup building a community in the gardening universe, and a member of the Board of Directors for Toronto-based craft brewery and restaurant group Mascot Brewery. Most recently, he has joined the Board of Directors at Vua Nem, the largest mattress retailer in Vietnam.
