Soulpepper Academy
The Soulpepper Academy aims to develop highly skilled theatre artists who are equipped to make significant contributions in rehearsal halls and to the cultural landscape of Canada. Under the guidance of Artistic Director Weyni Mengesha and faculty members including d’bi young anitafrika, Ins Choi, Gregory Prest, Frank Cox-O'Connell, and many more leading Canadian artists, five vibrant emerging artists gain hands-on professional theatre experience through this six-month paid training program.
Queer Youth Cabaret
Queer Youth Cabaret provides a platform for emerging artists who identify as LGBTQI2S+ to develop their artistic voice in a safe and welcoming environment. Not only do the selected artists get to perform for a live audience at Soulpepper, they also receive training, mentorship, and dramaturgical support from established queer artists and arts educators in the weeks leading up to their final showcase. Queer Youth Cabaret is a Pride month celebration like no other!

Led by acclaimed Soulpepper artist instructors, the Training Room is an opportunity for artists of all levels of professional experience to engage in hands-on, rigorous performance training in a safe and creative environment. Training Room participants also present their work to members of Soulpepper's artistic leadership team, including Artistic Director Weyni Mengesha.
workshops
Throughout the year, Soulpepper offers workshop opportunities and masterclasses for emerging artists to hone their skills in playwriting, scene study, ensemble creatiton, and more. These workshops introduce participants to established artists and industry leaders and enable them to take creative risks in small group settings.
