Soulpepper’s 2025.26 season is an invitation to our audiences to find what we need most in these fractured times: connection. Stories For a Stronger City is more than a title—it’s a declaration of our belief in the power of theatre to build community and forge new paths forward, together.
As a culmination of Weyni’s tenure as Artistic Director, this is by far our most ambitious season, an exhilarating expression of our evolution as a company. With 16 productions, this season is a celebration of Toronto’s most extraordinary artists. The works we have curated for you range from theatrical epics to audacious world premieres and our beloved docu-concerts. From ancient Greece to Zambia to 1750s England by way of the magical realm of Narnia, these stories take you on an epic journey right here in the beating heart of Toronto. What ties them together is that they speak to the times we live in; moments of polarization, transformation and rebuilding.
This season is built on deep partnerships with some of Toronto’s most exciting theatre companies, including a game-changing three-year strategic collaboration with Crow’s Theatre. This collaboration allows us to offer you even more astonishing artistic works to discover, with a staggering 24 productions presented between both companies, including four we are co-producing together.
This year, Soulpepper and Crow’s subscribers will enjoy unprecedented benefits, with streamlined access to both seasons for a richer, more connected theatrical experience. Alongside our other creative collaborators including Obsidian Theatre, Bad Hats Theatre, and The Musical Stage Company, there is truly something on offer for everyone.
Beyond the stage, our season extends into the community through Public Domain, our newly launched engagement program. With hundreds of free events, this initiative transforms our theatre into a dynamic hub where audiences, artists, and all Torontonians come together through art.
