Community Movie Night: Rumours

Leaders of the world's wealthiest democracies gather for the annual G7 summit to draft a provisional statement regarding an unnamed global crisis. They soon become spectacles of incompetence, contending with increasingly surreal obstacles as night falls in the misty woods and they realize they are suddenly alone.   

A genre-hopping, absurdist satire of political ineptitude, the latest film from Winnipeg writer-director trio Guy Maddin, Evan Johnson and Galen Johnson, is a journey into the absurd heart of power and institutional failure in a slowly burning world.    

Rumours was co-produced by Ari Aster and features unexpected performances from an ensemble cast that includes Cate Blanchett, Alicia Vikander, Charles Dance and Roy Dupuis.
